In memoriam Bordeaux tasting for Piet Kuiper (@ RvD): Mature bouquet with forest floor, red berries and mushrooms. On the palate still some red berries and good, fresh and juicy acidity. Round tannin with still a pleasant bite. Overall a beautiful, elegant and mature wine.

Dinner of Bordeaux 2nd Labels (Maria's place - Miro): Deep ruby, some edge fading. Nose of medium intensity with dark berry aromas, and pepper spices. Some bite from the tannins, mouthwatering acids, and quite a weight on the palate, with flavours of ripe blackberry, dark florals, grass, black pepper, cloves and nutmeg. Good classic St Estephe flavours, but somehow the finish seemed to be somewhat lacking in length and complexity

At 20 years old, this is drinking beautifully at the moment! Colourwise is now bright ruby red, looks very much like red candies, visually beautiful. Simple but great nose of red fruits, a hint of earth plus a hint of leather, although simple but quite intense! The palate is so refreshing, the acidity is just perfect, sweet fruitiness and a hint of earthy minerals! The balance is key, excellent to pair it with food, braised lamb I suggest! The wine itself I conclude is simply outstanding.

Montrose signature all the way. Beautiful just not the depth of the big Brother. Fruit is fading a bit, but the nose, quel plaisir!!

Last and best bottle of an average Bordeaux, not decanted, good with the prime rib
