Solid, weighty, dark berried, and earthy. This Pinot from a hot vintage is aging nicely. Too bad the corks continue to disintegrate. I need to accelerate my consumption due to Domaine Serene's faulty seals. Be mindful if you have a large supply in the cellar. The good news is that the juice inside is delicious!

The corks from Domaine Serene's 2016 vintage leave much to be desired -- I have experienced many repeat issues with their bottlings having dry, deteriorated corks, particular on the Jerusalem Hill and Cote Sud vineyards.
That said, the 2006 Jerusalem Hill is aging beautifully. I have had so much trouble with the corks that I think it has impacted the quality of the wine being stored in the bottles. This time around, however, no cork problems ... and the wine shows ... it's beautiful! I can only hope that the remaining bottles in my cellar don't have the same trouble as the ones in the past...

Aging beautifully despite repeat cork issues (disintegration despite professional temperature-controlled cellaring).
