  • Bottle and fill were excellent. The cork was solid with a finger of wine extending to the surface. Very dark and vigorous but dull and harsh at the outset. This gradually brightened to ruby garnet and developed a lovely nose with leather, leaves, spice and earth. The finish remained a little hard with a hard edge that never fully resolved, but it did not significantly detract from the experience. The tanginess and eventual sweetness of old brunello was present - 2 - 2.5 hours in the decanter seemed about right and it definitely needs proper food. Classic brunello.

  • The cork crumbled when removed. Ruby in color and extremely young looking. Great nose of roses, allspice and red fruits, with some leather. Very fresh on the palate with plenty of fruit remaining and bracing acidity. Wonderful mature brunello sweetness of the fruit. The wine hung in there for over two hours before the fruit faded and the acidity took over. Really nice wine for an off vintage.

  • Great color for a 32 year old wine with only slight bricking around the edges. Perfumed nose with ripe berries with wonderful spice notes. There was a natural sweetness to the fruit on the palate that was so balanced and still fresh with acidity. Amazing length on the finish provides the perfect ending for this great wine.
