Rick's 50th birthday notes and my 10,000th post!; 11/24/2012-11/27/2012 (Chateau Rick): Similar to my previous note from earlier in the year but the wine was far more ready to drink than the prior bottle. Still had great texture and vibrancy and the powerful attack of fruit and mineral was still there. I'd say consume them up as the mid palate is starting to fall off just a touch as the wine takes a small dip from the initial attack to mid palate and then raises back up on the finish.

took about a hour to open up. I'm surprised we finished the magnum. Drinking in a wonderful spot, tart stone fruit, power and structure that's typical of Batard. What I most enjoyed was the silky texture that only comes with age from white burgs. It's almost as if the wine glides off your palate. The minerality and acidity has blended together to work with the lushness of the fruit. Great drink, glad I have uno mas.
