Pale/medium garnet, medium pale rim. Nose is developed and satisfying with spicy red fruit, rich earth, notes of dungy undergrowth, touch of liquorice. Quite rich but at the same time perfumed. Medium bodied on the palate, spicy red fruit to the fore, savoury gamey notes, vibrant acidity, soft tannins still showing a touch of grip on the good length, sweet, spice fruited finish. Excellent mature village wine, drinking well but no particular hurry.

Pale/medium garnet core, pale garnet rim. Bright, quite pungent nose showing sappy red cherry and raspberry fruit, plenty of spice (inc. clove?) and an attractive gamey edge developing with time in glass. Medium bodied on the palate, red cherry fruit, spice, licoroice, decent intensity here, certainly fresh and quite elegant but shows some richness on the mid-palate and in particular on the good length, gamey, spicy finish. Excellent, drinking well now and showing some nice complexity but some chewy tannin on the finish suggets this may improve over the next few years.
