Last bottle was splash decanted to have with pork stew. Aromas of black cherry and blackberry both of which are in the riper area, vanilla, cream, a touch of meatiness, leather. Fruit sweet on the palate; fresh plums, blackberry and cherries, slight tannic grip is emery paper textured, a little vanilla and milk chocolate here as well. Alcohol is controlled. Yum

Old leather, blackberry and dusty cedar initially backed by some slightly heady non-intrusive alcohol and plenty of spice as well as a very slight boot polish and tobacco leaf. On the palate the fruit is very much to the fore, the alcohol lending it sweetness and warm spice on the finish. Tannins are fully resolved. Yum with a lazy cheeseboard...

Auction purchase, maybe not the best storage since distinctly showing its age
Dark fruit, soft vanilla tannins, very enjoyable, glad I didn’t hold it any longer

Old School Aussie Shiraz with age (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Black cherry and berry, vanilla, spice. Slight Balsamic and soy. More of the same on the palate. Lots going on, full on but balanced. Yum.

Supper at Ivan and Jo's - Jordan's tasting (Jo & Ivan's, Marrickville): Black cherry, peppery spice, alcohol heat. Initially it's a bit reductive as well but, with time, has touches of plain chocolate.
