Medium-dark garnet colour. Aromas of violets, cherry, earth, black licorice, sottobosco. Meidum-bodied, still a bit austere, with currant and cherry. Tannins quite prevalent. Short-moderate length finish; earthy. Needs a bit more cellar time, but I don't think this will ever evolve into greatness.

Musty old earthy nose, tobacco, tertiary red fruit, and fairly deep color for a 20 year old wine, simple but real and quite good.
