This has development to come I'd say. Brooding and concentrated. A great deal of sediment. Stood for two days before decanting and probably needed longer. This may well get better, but impressive today

“G8 summit – Milestones and memories of my past” (non-blind), Wine 13: The year in which my dear friend and generous host established this annual tasting group. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered red and dark fruit, dark cherry, dark plum and some chocolate, with good acidity, fine, ripe tannin and very good length. Impressive! I might be underrating this and hope to get the chance to re-taste it with a fresher palate.

Mostly Italian (and some others) with friends (Trentina's): IIRC, this is Cabernet (from Italy). It is still drinking youthfully so no hurry. It does drink more Bordeaux in style. Purple in color, ruby rim. The nose has cassis, cherries, tobacco, slight bell pepper and slight earthiness. Good acidity. Flavors of cherries intertwined with forest floor notes. Nothing green on the palate. Nice finish. Not sure if it gets a lot more complexity but no hurry. Then again, I have had a lot of this wine in many vintages and have yet to find one that was fully mature so perhaps. This was my last 99, but I think i will et some other vintages rest even more than 17 years.

Color: Dark red, apears young. Nose: Currant, cedar. Very Cabernet. Palate: sweet fruit, some astringency, still fresh - but not for long. Perfect now.
