Maybe a 24 hr. wait will change result, but metallic overtone is a real disappointment. This purportedly great vintner and terroir seems to alway disappoint my CA palate

Nope. I know it's a cult wine and it's a vintage one at that, but it's a perfect example of what doesn't work about Oregon Pinot. Terroir, no, just dirt, and a fragility that makes you think it could go bad while you are drinking.

(From 375 from the winery) Fairly resolved tastes of cola, black cherries and spice. Decent aromas, but turns a tiny bit tart on the finish. I'll admit to being a bit disappointed by this one, as I've usually liked the Elton's more than I did this time. Still has quite a bit of life left in it, though, so no hurry to finish it up.

Seattle Does West Coast Pinot Noir (Kaspar's, Seattle, WA): On the nose, I'm not quite sure, but I seem to pick up some broccoli notes. On the palate, black fruits and medium tannins...quite nice. Could perhaps use another year or two, but drinking well now. WOTF, but this was our weakest overall flight.

Adequate. Metallic after-taste. Not for wine-geek company.
