Fantastic wine, with a richness that did not feel heavy, particularly with filet mignon. I know these Turley wines are meant to last, but it still feels incredible for a 26-year old bottle to taste this lively.

A private tasting (Restaurant De Ertepeller, Papendrecht. NL): Tasted blind. Rich and saturated purple colour, very youthful; deep and powerful nose, violet, sweet spices, pepper, black cherries; liquorice and bay leaf on the palate, full and rich, bursting with energy, extremely concentrated; amazing length. Incredibly impressive.

Slow Oxed for ~ 1/2 hr. First impression is of slightly fading palate of blue fruits. Twenty years may be a turning point for this unusually long-lived wine. The tannins are integrated, and the wine was a formidable (and wonderful) match for the left over short ribs in a syrah sauce, that seemed to overpower the syrahs that originally accompanied them. Clearly there are vintage variations, but I may consider 15 to 20 years after vintage to be the "sweet spot" for these Turley PSs.

DECANTED FOR THREE HOURS. INCREDIBLY RICH WITH DEEP BERRY FRUITS, CURRANTS, BLACKBERRIES, BLACK RASPBERRIES IN THE NOSE AND FLAVOR WITH HINTS OF LICORICE. COMPLEX WINE WITH A VERY LONG FINISH.
