Dark red color. Sharp, dark fruited nose. Intense, dark fruit on the palate, almost painfully so. Sharp acidity, out of balance. Finishes sharp and harsh. To be fair, it's not awful but also not worth the effort. tasted on opening but note taken after 90 minutes.

Tasted blind. EtOH and oak hits me hard on the nose, but some nice cedar wood aromas lie underneath. Big, extracted fruit that gives rich flavors of boysenberry pie and vanilla. Seems young, and somewhat modern in style.

During a BYO tasting dinner, no detailed tasting notes. Ripe and plush but better than the 2008 I had the other day, fresher.

My second bottle. Drink up soon. I don’t think can get any better. Still excellent! My last bottle was better.
