Community Tasting Notes (1) Median Score: 84 points

  • This has that same aroma that made me fall in love with this wine (and wine in general) years ago. Really delicious earthy berry flavors, with heavy briar, and an almost sherry mixed with brandy component. Nice graphite, minerals, and earth. Such grace and beautiful Italian love. This is a 93 point nose, if it only followed through. The palate entry is more earthy, graphitey briar fruit with pretty light tannins and acid, but a pretty delicious lightly brandy stewed fruit component. There's sometimes an old bubble gum flavor that's quite interesting coupled with the earthy flavors. Really pleasing stuff. There does appear to be some brett here that comes and goes, sometimes coming across as too much and other times it's enough to add an interesting component. The finish is similarly lightly acidic with some brett and plenty of dirty earthy berries.
