Burgundy & Baseball - Cubs Win the Pennant! (Home): An approachable Bonnes Mares, which in and of itself is quite an achievement, at this age. Full nose has darker tones with black cherry and earth. Palate has good density and weight, but nice lift and energy, for an overall smooth impression. Drinking well now, and no overt oak/modern appearances.

North Berkeley Imports Tasting (Park Restaurant Dallas): Moderately deep, translucent ruby appearance. Earth, fruit rind, and a touch of something more exotic, like sandalwood and cigar spice. Slightly chewy red fruit on the palate. Somewhat short? Interesting nose, but I'm not interested at this price. $255.

Wines While Watching the Cubs Win the Pennant (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Floral and spice aromas with red berries maturing nicely. Same flavors with earth hints and Grand Cru density, even if less finesse. Certainly good now.

Beautiful perfumed red fruits. Supple and delicious on the palate. Exceptional but pricey.
