11th bottle of a case bought as futures at MacArthur Beverage Annual Barrel tasting in Washington, DC and stored undisturbed in my cellar since release. The condition of the bottle was perfect. I noted some mild effervescence in the early bottles which detracted from the wine. Not this bottle! This bottle was absolutely singing. Uncorked one hour before and enjoyed from the bottle over the next three. The balance was nearly flawless and it held up magnificently over the evening. No rush to drink my last bottle. If you are holding, you are in for a treat.

Into neck fill. Pop and pour. Starts off with plenty of sweet black fruits but after an hour or so red fruits dominate. Very good food acidity. Some hints of Eucalyptus and herbs with vanilla Oak.

Into neck fill, solid cork. This beauty took nearly two hours to fully come around. Very smooth with an abundance of overripe and lush blackberries, black cherry and Vanilla Oak. With the extra air time, some of the candied fruit element mellowed and became far more elegant. An extra point for ageworthiness. This bottle had at least five more years of top quality drinking in it.

Cork soaked but in tact. Still dark color, with very modest bricking. 30 minute decant was more than enough. This 100% Cab is loaded with jammy / nearly candied blackberries and black cherry. Very smooth. Too much of a fruit bomb for my taste, but clearly a very well made wine. A full teaspoon of sediment.

(Peter Michael Les Pavots) Very dark red violet color; lovely, elegant, cassis, tart plum, pencil lead nose; youthful, tart cassis, tart plum, pencil lead palate with integrated oak and good acidity; like a fine Bordeaux; will go 30-plus years; medium-plus finish 95+ points
