perfectly pleasant nero d. strawberry and red fruits on the nose, crunchy fruits on the palate. not the longest finish, but perfectly serviceable as a midweek glass.

Quite taught, spiced, dense, but drinkable. A nice, dry, tannic finish, just on the right side of bitter. The only criticism I have is a spiritous overtone - though if I'm feeling kind, I might blame the comedy oversized Paris goblet I was forced to drink it from. Still, I'm increasingly impressed by these great-value native Sicilian reds. [13.5% abv; £4.50]
