Let stand open (in bottle) for thirty minutes before tasting. Smooth zin, with softened tannins, but still plenty of fruit. Slightly sweet on front palate, finishing with more acidity.

As expected, paired very well with dry rubbed and smoked ribs. Wine was quite enjoyable for that purpose and was otherwise a bit hot. No brambly or raisin character. Good Acidity to provide a flexible food pairing. I would like to try this with a coconut curry soup, Tom kha. Drinking well now. Has the structure to last a few years. Did not require a decant.

On the nose a touch of raisin, minerality reminiscent of wet stone and limestone, dark fruit in the form of plum and red in the form of raspberry. On the palate some more raisin, earth, tannin, and mouth watering acidity. On the finish lingering acidity, soft tannins, dark fruit, and a bit of chalky minerality. Seems somewhat restrained at this point and no notes of red cherry as on previous vintages of this bottling. While not a flaw, this one threw quite a lot of sediment, which is indicative of a healthy wine in my opinion. I think this will continue to develop in the next 2-4 years, given its acidity and tannins. 89-91 pts. PJP 2013.

- Brick color with slow forming legs and aromas of mushroom. It's high in alcohol and has flavours of black pepper with a medium body. Leathery texture with a short finish - Just at the edge. Spicy does not do it justice. Once past that the flavor is a little thin.

Drinking beautifully right now. Loads of fruit, supple tannins, and fantastic balance. Increasing my score from last time. Wish I had more. PJP 2015.
