  • Nice wine, just entering its drinking window. (What were these other drinkers thinking?) Straight down the pipe cab flavors of black currant (aka cassis), some cedar-y notes, just a hint of leaf. Secondary notes are just lurking in the background in the aromas and taste--some tobacco and leather, some oak is noticeable, as it is in the palate. I think this could have used a couple years for the tannins to smooth out a little more, but no complaints. Looking forward to the upgrade with the Rockpile Cabs.

  • Still too young. I had hoped that with decanting over 24 hours it would open up enough that I could get a sense of how much I liked it, and get more if I did. But there is still a whole of puckery tannin and tart fruit in the way. I think it's going to be a very good wine when it settles down.

  • Nice medium to high end Sonoma 100% cab blend. Very good QPR. Very full bodied, nice mouthfeel, somewhat new and old world mix.
