  • I opened for a tasting and double decanted at home. Initially, the wine showed fairly well, with some nice red fruit and minerality...however, 2 hours later the fruit was gone and one was left with a hot, ripe wine that was terrible. So, if you have the wine-->pop and pour.

  • Really enjoyed this. It went very well with dinner (red wine braised lentils) as well as on its own. It has the acid and balance and lack of dominating heavy fruit and oak that make some wines food unfriendly. At the same time it has plenty to offer on its own. Fabulous fragrance with some smoke, tarry and earthy notes, and plenty of fruit. Tannins are subtle and lend just enough support to give it structure and length. I felt this was quite good shortly after opening, but it did hit its stride after having been open 1-2 hours.

  • I'd have to agree with the Wine Spectator score. I'm glad someone posted that, since I was starting to question my judgement when everyone else's scores are only in the high 80s. We loved this, a gorgeous, floral wine. Great acidity, balance, wonderful and light on the palate.

  • Tasted at a NZ wine tasting. Wine #5. Lovely PN nose of blueberry and plum. Very fragrant. Has a bite on the palate and a short finish. After having some cheese the wine seemed to be more enjoyable as the cheese smoothed out that bite. NZ wines are food friendly as we noted throughout the night.

  • This was my first tasting from Central Otago region. My, my, I was thoroughly impressed. This medium bodied wine possesses incredible balance along with a velvety texture featuring flavors of ripe plum and red fruits. Slightly chewy on the long, sweet finish. Drink now.
