Mid to pale ruby, heading towards garnet at the rim. Slightly dusty red fruit with a spiced top note and a touch of red currant jelly. Nicely bright on the attack, some ripeness but relatively light body and good acidity keeps it fresh and gives it an old-world feel. ***

Work Wine Tasting - Pairs (Home): Deeper in colour than the Grivot alongside. A little deeper and darker without losing it's elegance. A lovely wine. Maybe just lacking a bit of complexity and follow through on the finish, but showing better than when first tasted eighteen months ago. ***1/2

It's got that characteristic TM nose, but a little thin and underwhelming on the palate.

The Wine Gang (London): A little strawberry on the nose. Fuller and rounder than the Chehalem. Silky too. Savoury but not tart. Good. 17/20.
