Having just had a very nice experience with an '07 from Biggio Hamina, I was attracted towards a similar offering from White Rose. Pale red with slightly brown rim, quite ebullient aroma, slight funk, barnyard, rich on the palate with lots of red cherry, candied fruit, some acid, medium finish. Really showing quite well at this stage. Wondering if 2007 was underrated compared to other vintages in the same era?

It's been three years since the last encounter, and I have to say I was surprised. Pleasantly. 2007 was a dodgy vintage yielding many a mean, green product; fortunately this is far from one of them. Pale raspberry red, quite a lot of barnyard (I note many notes of brett - was once an issue with White Rose but no more I think). If you like fruit it is full on from the beginning, oozing bright tart cherries. It's not complicated but it is fun and better than I remember.

No detailed notes. Liked this wine a lot, especially for the price. Nicely balanced, and a great pairing with a chicken pasta zipped up with some chili pepper pesto. That said, this wine didn't "wow" me in any particular way. A very nice, very "correct" pinot with no rough edges and everything in balance. It simply lacked that "something extra" to rate a higher score. I think I'm getting too picky;)

Has aged nicely and softened and added a slight white peppery note to the red fruits.

A little funk, a little forest floor, some cherry/strawberry and spice.
