  • This was significantly less interesting than I'd hoped for. Lightish colour, lightish nose, slightly high-toned and lacking depth or complexity. It was perfectly correct on the palate, with pleasant, dry flavours, but not hugely interesting.

  • Fairly light colour (for a CdP, in 2003). Significant strawberry scent on nose. Nice attack (strawberries with white pepper), a bit hollow in the middle. Significant tannin on the aftertaste, but little else. Will this age??

  • Surprisingly pale ruby. Initially it looks and feels like a Bourgougne Rouge, with a strawberry aspect, only with a spicy finish. Pleasant and easy to drink, but on the thin side. Given enough time in the glass it shows its charm and puts on considerable weight, with a long and enjoyably tannic finish. Returning to it on Day 2 it has undergone a personality change, revealing its darker side, with meaty tannins predominating. This is ready to drink now, but it certainly needs decanting. How or if it will evolve, I have no idea. I find the colour and the disjointed nature worrying. g
