The last 10 year old bottle of this I had was flawed by oxidisation, so thank goodness this came with a screwcap rather than a cork. The wine is in fact amazingly crisp and fresh, with loads of acidity: remarkably similar, in that respect, to the Polish Hill Riesling (just a few months old) that immediately preceded this. What the Brokenwood doesn't have, though, is much in the way of aroma or flavour. It went well with roasted monkfish, but in itself shows little to get excited about.

Maybe still a little young, but slightly disappointed by the lack of complexity. Still a good wine, but one to complement food rather than to take centre stage itself. Perhaps with the use of screwcaps the drinking window for this line needs to be extended a little? If you have any, hold on for a year and then re-assess where it's going.

Not much to this. Pale colour, neutral flavour. Not interesting.

Tucker Seabrook trade tasting (Redfern): Barely bottled; youthful grass/straw aromas & flavours, with ripping acidity. Good palate presence.
