Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 90 points

  • Wouldn't have necessarily picked this out as a Zin if I was drinking it blind. Cedar, leather and game on the nose...more reminiscent of a Rhone to me, albeit one with a lot of depth and weight. These notes combine with some time in the glass, and come across with some of the menthol impressions mentioned by an earlier reviewer. Palate shows a more characteristic Zin profile. Fruit has hints of port, menthol and obvious boozy alcohol, the latter taking a couple points of my score. Fairly long finish. I suspect this might have showed a bit better a couple of years ago, but it remains a very nice Zin. It might age longer, but for me that's a bit of a crapshot. I'd drink sooner than later.

  • What a great wine. Little menthol on the nose but amazing berry flavor without to much sweetness. This is what a zin should taste like.
