Opened and decanted an hour before drinking. Fruity with still some tannin - we drank it with venison & it held it's own very well. Overall, a good drink but no wow factor.

Tasting this bottle confirms that the last was slightly flawed. This one is raspberry red colour, opaque at the rim. Nose of beef gravy and damsons. The palate is a tad soupy but full of nice ripe fruits. Some firm tannins bring it round at the end. Nice floral notes on the finish. This wine really exhibits the good and the bad from the 2003 vintage: good fruit but a little overblown and unmanageable. Having said that this is drinking well now.

Mid ruby, touch of mahogany at rim. Fairly ungiving nose, touch of garrigue and blackberry fruit. Smooth and surprisingly elegant though the tannins are a bit grainy or powdery. Nice clean finish, decent acidity too. Touch of blueberries. Not a great deal of complexity but some cloves and cinnamon. Pleasant wine, more relaxed and velvety on the second night. Ready but no rush (at least with the right storage).

Medicinal and funky. Lots of secondary flavours, a touch lean and flat. Soft and fully mature, I would drink up now if I had any left. Possibly a tad cooked?

Light crimson colour with a ripe cherry and raspberry nose. Very ripe palate, maybe indicative of the vintage, but in no way jammy. Good length with a dry tobacco filled finish.
