  • Good, but too old.

  • Slight signs of seepage on the cork, which was soft and crumbled into a thousand pieces. I filtered the wine into a decanter and gave it 30 minutes. The initial nose seemed over-the-hill, like an aged Barolo with dry leather catcher's mitt and dusty basement floor. The palate was much more inviting, still with good fruit, sultana raisin, honeysuckle, fig sauce, and red plum. After another hour, the nose has finally caught up to the palate, picking up a mature wild raspberry and cranberry sweetness and a Mediterranean sun-drenched red fruit quality that reminds me of Bandol. Considering the cork condition, this couldn't have been the best representation of this wine, but it still was thrilling. Drink now.

  • Lots of fruit in the front end, bad cork so it took a while to settle the mixed up crystal. tobacco and leather. really quite fine for the bargain basement price.
