I am not one for fruit wine as it's often just simple and even gimicky, but this was really unexpectedly quite complex and wonderfully smooth. Texture of a nice merlot; would be wonderful with lots of foods, thinking of duck in particular. Really excellent and I'd happily buy again.

An afternoon at Bartlett Winery in Maine (Gouldsboro, Maine): This shows as a clear ruby/violet color in the glass with scents of spices, blueberries, coffee cake, and a light hint of cedar that trails off slightly with each breath. In the mouth this light-medium bodied wine offeres an initial rush of blue fruits that seamlessly lead into lingering notes of black berries, granite and minerals along a medium length finish. EXCELLENT.
