Fruit Day - when decanting off the sediment (which coated the interior of the bottle but fortunately only a little escaped to the wine), the room was filled with this wonderful aroma - ripe fruit, red florals, earthy damp loam... In the glass it's still a darkish garnet out to a ruby edge with the slightest touch of browning. On the nose it’s all dark and dense fruit, black liquorice, dried cherries, deep red florals with the slight hint of dark chocolate. On the palate it sings with ripe tannins & bright acidity but it also delights with dark chocolate, dried cherries and plums (not ripe like figs), savoury herbs (oregano and rosemary) and licorice root. The long finish is warming but the dried fruit and savoury herbs continue. This is a really well made wine and by far the best Nero di Troia I’ve had. Delicious now but can hold on for 3 or so years if cellared well

Had the chance to retaste another (well-stored) bottle of this wine and while the tannins and structurural frame are very soft now this still has gorgeous sweet plum fruit and fine tobacco notes. Not a wine of contemplation but a fun easy-drinking wine. Stunning quality and ageability for a 6 Euro supermarket wine. To me, this is the best vintage of the recent Vigna Pedales I have tasted. - 88 points

I find the fruit is fading a bit here and this wine is actually losing complexities and structure with age. Still a very good wine and value though. - 88 points

raspberry and black cherry followed by aromas of blueberry, plum, strawberry. In the mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, good tannins, agreeable. The finish is persistent with flavors of black cherry and plum
