Very, very surprising. Yes, it was a little bit foxy. Other than that though, it was fairly good and really interesting. Lots of lychee, white peach, and floral tones. Good balance of sweet and acidity. Enjoyed over the course of an hour.

This was a gift I wasn't going to track here but it surprised me when we drank it. It's made from the Traminette grape which is closely related to Gewurztraminer. Not as spicy but good flavors of apricot and honey. Would love to try this with Oriental food.

Just so many Traminettes this has an incredible nose - fleeting, but riffing on perfumes like a Kenzo. Then you taste it. Nice upfront, but very discordant notes of bitters and citrus rind. Those are not bad things, but they clash with the nose and it goes awry. I could smell it all day as it makes Gewurz aromas seem slutty.
Time makes it better as the perfume goes and resolve the disharmony, but to something lesser. Not a bad wine, but spirit-crushing.
