OMG. Beautiful color especially for its age, like my wife of 43 years. I like old champagne with a little oxidation. Needed to be cooler for the first glass. Drank over 7 courses at Kasama here in Chicago. Developed more strength in the glass. Lemon for sure with a little sherry hint on the finish. I described it better while drinking it. Wife says drink, I say can wait 5 years. Must drink with food. Not a P&P. Hold. Will visit the winery at the end of the month.

Bright color for its 37 years of age. Awesome nose with a hint of oxidation, on the palate a mouthful of popping rocks, long finish and just plain outstanding. Celebrating our anniversary year on the sweetest day.

This wine had a lovely golden color. It was one of those Champagnes capable of surviving a long time, with a remarkable increase in complexity. It had the typical flavor of great old Champagne, combining dilute crème brulee, toast, and petrol. It had wonderful balance and intensity, and a marvelous finish. It still had its bubbles, after so many years. I drank it in a Riedel Chardonnay glass to maximize the flavor.

What a treat, this wine was singing. Gorgeous golden color, and the faintest effervescence. Rich, viscous wine that was very much appropriate as a starter for a Montrachet lineup. Very yeasty nose, pear and honey on the palate. I don't know if other bottles would show this well, but this was very, very good -- better than an '86 Krug Mesnil we tasted last month. Highly recommended.

Nice acidity and mineralogy. Stone and wheat flavors. Very good but not great
