Mid to full garnet. Mellow leather, some spice and a whiff of incense. Good acidity, fresh and harmonious. Proper, mature crianza and well worth the eight quid from Majestic a decade ago. ***

Deep cherry core. No sign of browning at the rim. On the nose it's older than it looks. Coffee and spice, roasted note with red fruit in the background. On the palate it's mature but I doubt it's fading. Indeed the longer it's open the fuller and more rounded it becomes. Some acidity (tart fruit) . Not particularly long but a really decent crianza. It had 18 months in barrel and 10 in bottle before release. 12.5% alc. I wish I had bought more.

Work Wine Tasting - Pairs (Home): Mellow and smooth, benchmark old school Crianza. Some red berry fruit, good acidity. Light with a moderate finish. Excellent value. Bare ***

Lovely and gentle. Not big or clever, but it's not trying to be. A touch of fruit, and very integrated oak (querciophobes should be okay). Plenty of acidity. Very satisfying overall. Terrific value from Majestic parcel at around £7.

Good / Very good – Clear mid garnet appearance with slight browning at edges. Off-dry; mid acidity; medium body; light tannins; mid length finish; red fruit; cherries; raspberries; some aniseed/liquorice. Very mellow; really lovely bottle; Decanted 1 hour before drinking over 3 hours. Out of 5 bottles drunk from this batch from Majestic only 1 was off/dissapointed? – 3 have been good and this last one was the best of the lot – I decanted this one earlier and left it open longer.
