PnV. Deep maroon in color. Lighter nose of stewed plums, lavender, cedar, and a hint of leather. Rich in texture, with the blue fruits from the prior bottle now taking a back seat. The viscosity of this wine is what really stands out. There is a slight astringent element on the finish that disappears after an hour or so.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Syrah glass at 64F.

I was delighted to find another bottle of the JC Cellars Syrah hidden behind some other wines in my makeshift cellar. But when I pulled the cork, it was dry and split. I was sure that it was corked. No way! This is even better than I remembered. Rich, balanced, delicious. I wish I had saved it for a fancy dinner.

Properly aerated, this turns into a rich and juicy medium-dry wine that fills the mouth with fruit. An excellent wine to sip by itself, and impress company. It's one of those wines that everyone--from your wine geek neighbor to Aunt Margaret who usually serves wine from a jug--can fully enjoy and recognize as a fine wine.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A full bodied and smooth Syrah, with blackberry, blueberry, earthy spices, was tight at opening, a bit of a rough finish, not as good as last time tried.

PnV. Great, complex black and blue fruit. Drank over 3-4 hours but seemed to loose some of the excellent aspects of complexity. I'd say drink now and with the first couple hours after opening.
