  • Drank alongside the 1986 Coche Corton Charlemagne, 1989 Coche Meursault Perrieres, and 1996 Leroy Corton Charlemagne.

A beautiful medium gold color similar to the 86 Coche CC to indicate this was indeed a properly stored bottle. Again, the 86 botrytis is apparent. On the palate the fruit is rich and ripe and there is incredible length and power. The wine continues to improve over the next 3 hours picking up more acidity and precision. A rare rare treat and I doubt I will see this beautiful wine ever again.

  • Tasted blind – Slight copper-hay colour. Hints of funk with old chardonnay character. Tertiary notes of savory nuts, butterscotch, citrus peel, quince and caramel. Fully mature, from the early 90s? Premier Cru weight with linear fruits and complex lactic tone. Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru 1992? Leflaive / Morey Blanc? Not a crowd pleaser but I enjoyed this a lot. It held itself well even after sitting in the glass for 6 hours. (92/100)
