(Remoissenet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combottes) This 79 displayed a beautiful dark chocolate, sweet nose that still seemed fresh. Really mouth-filling. Starts a little narrow but then really fills your mouth with broad panorama of flavour - very gevrey grand cru in style if (possibly) needing a bit more intensity for that badge - very sweet fruit but the acidity is balanced. Plenty of astringent tannin and slowly fading flavours - a gorgeous mouthful - and there's no rush to drink.

Evolves generously over multiple hours, finishing in a deep, complex palate and restrained but long finish, typical of G-C. Wonderful indeed.

[Domaine release in pristine condition] Color seems younger than it is.
Beautiful bouqets of sweet red fruits, sweet candies, floral with earth.
Excellent balance of fruits and acidity, with good depth. Nose turns more intoxicating with 1.5 hr of air, sweeter on the palate. Remoissenet did a superb job given 1979 is a rather cold vintage!

Très beau nez de petit fruit rouge avec de l'herbe fraiche.
La bouche est fraiche et jolie, c'est élégant et il reste un beau fruit secondaire. J'aime beaucoup. 92 pts
