F.X. Pichler Riesling Unendlich full vertical (1998-2017) (Restaurant Waldhorn, Kirchheim, Germany): Glass: Gabriel Standard Bottle opened ~36h before. Double decanted ~ 10h before drinking. Clear, medium golden-yellow color. Nose with clean botrytis notes, herbs, maybe a tiny bit of TCA? On the palate very herbaceous, lots of candied fruit. Deep and dense, very good length. No sign of TCA on the palate. 92-93

Neverending ? Absolutely !!!! This neede air. First it was very one dimensional and broad ! It developed and after 4 h of decanting it was sooo good. Of course the big fruit basket. But not sweet . Not heavy. This has acid , huge minerality and a exciting saltiness in the neverending finish that lasts nearly two minutes !!!!!!! Hold !!!!!

slightly disappointing, a bit flabby and lacking energy. The wine looks Yellow gold colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Lime, Grapefruit, Apricot, and Dust.

The Portland Crew with Tooch (Kirk's Place): Decanted since morning! L+ gold. Nose: waxy, petrol, hint of rubber (reductive?), beautiful saffron and rice around lemon curd fruit. In the mouth: amazing fruit, ripping lemony acidity, Long finish. med body, med sweet but not overdone, an explosion of lemon-bar tartness with a hint of orange peel wrapped around a core of saffron. The balance is so perfect it's hard to focus on. effortless. 91-93 ~$160.
Other people wanted a touch more acidity. Doug mentioned he wondered whether this could age without more acidity. I think it's perfect. I wonder whether I have a lower tolerance for this type of acid - malic than for cleaner lactic acid, e.g. in a full malo white burg.
