{screwcap, 12.5%} Mid yellow. Now developing citrus aromas in the Clare style. Even palate balance, citrus flavours too, not much kerosene/petroleum. Seems like it's still evolving; hasn't reached a transcendent complexity (yet?). Medium/full weight, bone dry. Very good but not quite wonderful.

Screwcap. No ullage of course. Gold/green. Spritzig hint of dissolved CO2 on front of tongue. Intense great mature riesling - everything you could ask for. Long, long finish. This is a priviledge to drink and hats off to the master John Vickery for this being what it is tonight.

All the class you come to expect from Leonay. Beautifully mature with a hint of gold and green. Stunning concentrated nose with no kero. Instantly on the palate with a energising finish. The bottle disappeared. Drink now or hold for a few more years.

Riesling! (Yokohama, Japan): Served blind. Kerosene, cream, lime, dusty with an almost herbaceous minerality (if you can imagine such a thing) with slight ethanol notes. On the palate spritz, lime citrus, juicy acid, slight alcohol on the finish. Bone dry. Hmm. I knew what this was (I brought it along)
