  • Still drinking well after all these years. Not as full or ripe as years ago but still shows very nice fruit and is quite enjoyable. Nice surprise!

  • Huge fruit, delicious. Better than last bottle. Very stylish, has a few more years even. This confirms my 2008 note. Brilliant.

  • Good, not great. This has a spicy, ripe red fruited profile, with superb balance and depth, but lacks a little cut, detail and nuance. No tannins to speak of, and this shows decent length. Perfectly mature, and on peak right now. It'll last for another 4-6 years, maybe longer, but no reason to wait, this is fully open and even lush and fading by the second evening.
In answer to my 2009 note, the answer is "Yes, this is passing to another phase, and isn't fulfilling its early promise." I overrated this in 2008. Just didn't have the chops to pull off the twenty years of bottle age needed to develop its potential.

  • Plenty of life left in this wine. Very nice pinot and perfect with bouillabaisse.

  • Beautiful nose of sage, cola, some darker briery fruits, cardamom, and allspice. While outstanding yesterday, this really gained complexity overnight. This has beautiful texture, richness, and great depth, all the while maintaining wonderful balance and freshness. This is very long with cooler herbal and savory, almost smokiness on the finish balanced with the beautiful fruit. I know this is a gross generalization, but I have lost a lot of my love for domestic pinot. That said, this was really, really good. Hartford made some good wines back then. A complete wine at peak. 94 pts
