Bdays at ESKL. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of mint, sweet spice, blueberries, glossy dark red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of glossy dark red cherries black cherries, blueberries, sweet spices, mint. Long finish. Very good quality. Fruit ripe and a bit on the extracted side, but overall still nice effect. Was guessing maybe a 2005 Clos de la Roche or a Vosne Romanee 1er Cru. Drinking well now. Could still develop some tertiary aspects over the next 3+ years if kept well.

A taste of Burgundy 2006 (Crystal Wines): A whole lot of chinese medicated plaster or the yoko yoko medicated sports rub on the nose framed by coffee oak. Slightly extracted black cherries , woody and finishes with a whole spectrum of lingering bitterness from fried roots, dry leaves . Somewhat uncomfortable.
