Much like another contemporaneous Paso wine (2004 Garretson "Mon Amie" Syrah) opened alongside this one, this was distinctly over the hill. Overly roasted fruit has taken on an unpleasant bitter note. Should have been consumed at least a decade ago to enjoy its exuberant charms.

Had it with Chris Michele Don Charlie And Penny at Redbirds at first was lacking but after a hour or so it opened nicely. Glad we drank not sure if it would be good in a year

Surprising how much fruit is still left on this - I expected it to be earthier than it was. Deep, dark and inky with a nose full of cherries and intricate flavors that kept changing from when we opened it to when we finished it. Wonderfully complex and smooth. Stems up!
