Medium-dark red color. Aromas of iron, cherries, a hint of smoke, and earth. Palate is full of iron and beef blood with a ripe cherry core that leads into a long, slightly roasted finish that displays some coarse tannins. With time, vanilla notes emerge in the mid-palate. Ripe, round, and almost polished. I liked it and thought it a success for the vintage. Drink.
