  La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Walk around tasting, in 11/07/95 vertical, all from magnum. Both lean and rich lemon and lemon curd with engaging and bright textures. Very long finish. Still nicely fresh, in its peak drinking window, but certainly good to last longer. The highlight of the vertical.

Outstanding acidity, very discrete light touch of oak, very elegant weight. I loved this wine despite being somewhat of a skeptic about wines from this commune due to heavy handed cooperage.

  naso un po' chiuso, bocca più espansa all'inizio, poi dopo poco il naso si rivela intenso e caldo ma di un calore bello, frutta non surmatura ma buona e ricca. La bocca è il punto debole, buono l'inizio ma il finale svanisce un po'

  Assaggio presso la Domaine. Charles Ballot, conosciuto l'anno prima a Milano in occasione di una degustazione del distributore per l'Italia, ci accoglie con una cortesia d'altri tempi nonostante il brevissimo preavviso. Che vini quelli di Charles! E' curata e di ottimo pregio tutta la line dei vini, compresa anche quella dei rossi. Ma il Meusault les Perrieres è un capolavoro in tutte le sue annate. Qui assaggiato insieme al 2008 i vini non sono tutti uguali, ma hanno le evidenti diverse caratteristiche dell'annata e sono sempre ben fatti, assaggiato anche il 2006 l'anno prima, che meraviglia ed ancora diverso! Questo M. les Perrieres riporta le note del terreno calcareo, è lunghissimo, completo, non eccessivamente duro, ma assolutamente molto complesso. Più diretto rispetto il 2008. Bravo Charles! 2006, 2007, 2008 tutti fatti molto molto bene, tutti diversi a seconda l'annata, non si sa quale scegliere!
