notes from 24 hours open on the counter. nose: a bit meaty, definitely savory, though some prune is also showing through, which I'm less into. palate:the herbs and prunes have a rustic edge to them. THe acid is high-ish, countering a full onslaught of prune juice, thankfully. The red fruit seems a bit muddy and heavy, but it is not distasteful. Tannins are light. Great for pasta night. Probably wouldn't buy a $20 wine for pasta night again, though.

Cherry, strawberry and raspberry bringing nice tartness on the nose. Florals, herbs and some meaty nuances. Medium bodied with balanced acidity and tasty tannic grip. Slightly earthy and floral. A perfectly decent Dolcetto.

(Massolino Docetto d'Alba) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-quite dense; dark red fruit (cherries and strawberries); some blueberry components; tar and beef jerky as well; PALATE-great tannins; great acidity; great freshness; floral action; I like this licorice juice that's coming through; dark chocolate; plum; good acid and tannins; nice wine; great with pizza and pasta; really well made; great freshness of fruit; I like the length; very silky; medium bodied, but has enormous intensity; very well made; great length; coats my entire palate; AG-88; GV-88+
