  • Third of three great bottles enjoyed during a night out at Barbacco in SF, so my notes are a little incomplete on this one. I remember elements of bright, clean strawberries and cola. Light bodied and soft around the edges. Tasty stuff. My first German pinot. Worth exploring more.

  • Pale , brownish color. Nose has firm red fruit and some toastiness. Taste medium+, firm red fruit. Lovely balance. Extreamly well drinking wine. Must have more on this one

  • Clear, very pale brick color, lightly concentrated, showing some tartrate crystals and tiny gas bubbles that cling to the glass. On the nose, the wine shows medium plus intensity, with red fruit aromas of strawberry leather, cherry gelatin, orange oil, savory and food-like notes of oil-cured olives and grape stem. Leather, sandalwood, and golden Cavendish. Fine minerality. On the palate, the wine is dry, light in body, with sweeter red flavors of ripe strawberry, and almost some vanilla cream cherry. Brown sugar, vanilla, tobacco and bitter orange oil. Some stony minerals on the palate. Acid is juicy and alcohol (13.5%) are very balanced. The wine is not highly complex but the wine drinks easily and shows very good quality for the money. $23

  • Light in colour, but this wine has a lot of character. Clean dark fruit on the palate, a bit spicy in a pleasant way. Surprisingly good with a long and focused finish.

  • Light red color with some hints of purple. Delicate aromas of fresh berries, cherry and some raspberry with hints of wet earth. Medium bodied with fresh fruit following trough and a touch of dusty tannins. Long finish that turns to spicy. Great pairing with fillet of veal where it supports the delicate veal while matching the freshly ground black pepper with its finish.
Drinking perfectly right now, will hold well until 2011.
