maybe just a bit past its peak. I do get the port vibe and it's very mellow with the usual Zin spice notes. But nothing is standing out a lot beyond that so it's a bit one dimensional. It's a one night fling as I don't think the bit I left for night 2 will do anything more...and as expected nothing gained and in fact the Port note is gone. Drink it now if you have it.

Very nice. I think it's finally resolved and is now stewed red fruit, with baking spices. Tannins are very fine grained and overall it's medium bodied.
Steady wine over the couple hours it was open. Still going strong actually, and no specific needed to drink up although I'm not sure it will get better with more age.

On PnP the port character is at the front. With time, that faded somewhat and a nicely textured plum/black fruit but beautifully balanced wine came out. Try the last one 2015-6?
Hard to believe, but this still seems to be improving. Maybe I shouldn't be in a rush to finish these off. Opening it and letting it get plenty of air really helped. The port addition isn't driving this wine any more, and it's bold and complex - not as awesome as the 1869 but great wine nonetheless. It's got some time to go before it needs to be finished.
