Probably waited to long to open this medium bodied, "Chianti-like" wine. Tasted three times in 2017, it always came across as a pleasant, easy drinking wine, that was best quaffed with light pasta dishes or pizza. I don't think this wine could hold up to any red meats or venison. Paired well with crab cakes one night! Not much of a finish, complexity or serious character - just a fun wine dinner wine.

The color on this 4 yr old Sangiovese is more deep purple than red, with a transparent rim at the edge. The legs form quickly upon swirling. The alcohol is 13.5%. The nose is upfront blue and black fruits, with some wet stones and a background pleasant green / vegetal quality. On the palate, the fruit repeats with a noticeable leather / tobacco quality. The greenness becomes more apparent with the rather astringent tannins on the short but decent finish. Overall, a nice wftm, should drink well another year or two. Easy to enjoy with a meal.

Popped and poured. Extremely dark purple in color, legs drop down like lead. The nose has a fruit forward blueberry and blackcurrant, with a background secondary aroma of leather and licorice. The palate shows a medium bodied wine with a nice and firm tannic backbone, supporting flavors of plum and bright cherry fruit, with a lively, dusty finish that is medium to short in length. A very good wine and great QPR. Still should drink well for the next 2 years.
