Such a lovely wine offered in 500ml format. Fairly dark yellow color. Since I was cooking, I cannot provide a detailed description of the nose, but the favors were wonderful to drink. The wine possess beautiful elements of bees wax, lemon, white raisin, and pineapple, along with well balanced, lingering acidity. Probably drank more “crisply” last year; nonetheless quite good. For what it is worth, the wine reminded me of a cross between a Hungarian Tokaji sec (a la the wax component) and an Italian Pinot Grigio or high-end Greek white wine (a la the lemon component). All and all, a wonderful white wine worth seeking and drinking near-term.
(Enjoyed this dry Pedro Ximenz with a simple salad and, in this case, an entrée of chicken paprika served on top of Spanish rice. I finished the meal with a glass of PX dessert sherry for a mind-blowing “bookend” wine contrast. Not-so-old, former sommeliers never die they just fade away….)

Fall Gala Tasting Event (Backstreet Wine Salon, Phoenix): Pineapple, melon and apple. Bright fruit. Full bodied. Rich layered finish. Impressive.
