I was out of town on a wine junket and forgot to lock the wine cellar. My wife wandered in and grabbed this. I guess it could have been worse. She was kind enough to leave me a bit to taste once I got home (yes, there are several other interpretations here, but I am trying to remain positive and supportive). After a day sealed in the fridge, a few points are evident: inky dark, tons of sediment line the bottle, still doing fine. Sure, there is a slight stewed aspect to this wine, but there is still good fruit and ample acidity. Two bottles left, but while I won’t necessarily rush, I won’t dawdle either. thedrunkencyclist.com

Beautiful wine. Maybe the fact they didn't produce Maria that year and put the grapes in the regular Alonso del Yerro helped ??? Still, great nose of dark fruits and plums. Oak is a little on the vanilla side of things but it's subtle. Nice balance, good length. Near or at it's peak. What an amazing QPR !

So impressive was our first bottle of this that we tried another and confirmed its excellence. A blind tasting would lead one to conclude something much bigger and more renowned.

An intense nose of earthy cherry driven licorice potpourri leads to a rich and juicy offering with layers of cherry and black currant along with some spiciness.
