I thoroughly enjoyed this, compared to a 2006 Salicutti this had much more energy and vibrancy. The nose was lovely and complex with bright red fruits, anise, mushroom, balsamic, leather, cigar box. The palate did not quite have the depth and concentration of the Salicutti, but much more freshness and energy which for me made it more enjoyable. Both very good, but this went better with the food.

Stricty for diehard brunellisti. It's almost like balsamic vinegar. With hints of soy sauce. Concentrated with zippy acidity and great persistance. Stretches credulity that something like this may come from grapes. Some will hate it but a few might adore it.

A nice traditional sangiovese colour, bright palish red, some age on edge. Lots of bitter cherries (almost Burgundian) and sour creamy, plus earthy. nice balance and lovely juicy acidity - very nice now and will no doubt last well for a good while. The antithesis of modern style, dark, opaque high alcohol chocolatey brunelli... subtle and refined, leaves you wanting another glass.

Best of Tuscany (Enoteca Barolo Madrid): Pure Starlux cube, nose and palate. Horrible. Prefer to think it was a flawed bottle... Pura pastilla Avecrem en nariz y boca. Horrible. Prefiero pensar que era una botella defectuosa...

This bottle was showing beautifully, but the variation of brett levels worries me.
