  • Initially this was fairly awkward & there was an off-putting woody note to the nose and while the palate was better was still on the thin side. Not a hint of weird green-meanies or lady-bug stain (not, I must confess, that I know what lady-bug stain tastes like). With a couple of hours of air (not decanted) it all came together very nicely. The oak integrated and while this was far from rich or hedonistic, it had lovely intensity, really penetrating, mouth cleansing acidity (that would put most chablis to shame), medium bodied, taut, filigree, very long. Perhaps not one to convert a non-Burgundy drinker, but I loved it. ( I picked up a couple of bottles from L&W last month for £26 each, aware of the value but wary of the vintage - I am glad I have another, but regretting not buying at least 6....give it a bit of air, but I think the people who bought the rest - the case went quickly - should be very happy....and if they don't like it DM me & I will buy them off you !) Not falling off a cliff any time soon, 2024 + maybe much longer
