Very nice texturally right from the bottle, with very good balance but still a restrained nose and palate. Good inherent quality and value, at least in this vintage. Hoping it will open up aromatically this evening. Rollin rocks.

A broad warm nose with fruit that leans towards cherry. Ample acid. No real traces of green. On the palette, the fruit gives way to a dominant tartness. A masculine styled burgundy that leaves me wanting something. Maybe it's a tad to rustic?

Excellent villages. Distinctive fiery gout de terroir characteristic of Pernand and Savigny; earth, high acids, bright cherry fruit. Not terribly elegant or refined, but for a $25, 11-year-old pinot-based wine, impeccable. I'd buy more.

Deep red, rather tough and tight, reticent nose. After an hour or so in the decanter, with roast chicken, the wine rather glows with cherry volume and youthful energy. On it's own again, after dinner, it again comes across as closed and ungiving. Interesting showing, coming to life with food a bit like a good, young Loire cab franc. Will try to wait three years before opening another.

Popped and poured. Earthy forest floor, menthol and leather on the nose. Quite tight and acidic on the palate at first. With some air and food, started to blossom. White pepper, cranberry and black cherry began to show themselves on both the palate and the nose. Very clean and correct wine and very versatile with food.
