  • Decanted for over an hour. Very good and mature domestic pinot now drinking very well and in a great drinking window- I do not see any upside to further cellaring this and anticipate a decline starting in the next 1-2 years. Still dark with some peripheral bricking. Somewhat muted nose of dark red fruit especially red cherry and raspberry with a hint of white pepper (something there to almost make you think about a sneeze ;) ). Well structured, no acid nor tannins present, very cohesive, well integrated and smooth with no off tones at all. Good mouth feel and a medium length finish. Primary flavor profile now much softer then in it's youth, much less prominently fruit forward. Up front initially red fruit including dark cherry and raspberry, softer and more integrated then many CA pinots and some well-balanced smoke and tobacco followed by hints of black pepper developed on the mid- and late palate. We definitely recommend this especially for lovers of domestic pinot but also recommend drinking up the remaining bottles within the next 1-2 years.

  • At a perfect state now. Fruit from previous tasting over a year ago had knitted in so less pronounced and in balance. We could not stop sipping and tasting - blackberry pronounced(some cherry undertones), mint, some white pepper, and minerality all woven together like a nice Burgundy, but with some of the unique characterstics of very good Oregon pinot.

  • Very fruit forward when first opened. Quite big for a pinot: Cherry and raspberry with licorice and cedar undertones. After decanting and several hours after opening, flavors softened and good structure more apparent. Fine now but will not improve with age.

  • Plum and cherry fruit underpinned with minerality, vanilla and sweet tobacco to provide balanced moderately complex flavors. Claret color, rich nose and medium mouth feel. Definitely California but not overly fruit forward. Good now and for a few more years.

  • We first tasted this wine at the winery in May 2010. A dusty ruby color; raspberry, plum and 'cotton candy' on the nose; fruity and velveteen with a prolonged finish. The Anderson Valley fires added a smooth smoky and rich nuance to the wine. Outstanding with Copper River Salmon marinated in olive oil, soy, brown sugar and garlic.
